Our team did this much needed radical color change last year in Cleveland. Purple is a great color, and we know a lot of people love it. We love it also, but this homeowner felt it was time for a change, and needed a new coat of paint anyways. We were more than happy to help, especially given some of the more intricate details along the front and back of the house which help make it so interesting.
We recently completed this beautiful project earlier this year. The owners of this house were looking to have their cabinets redone due to fading of the original color and from the general wear and tear that happens over the years. As you can see in the picture below, the cabinets have changed to more of a peach color from the original light brown.
With warmer weather fast approaching, many people will start their Spring cleaning soon. One thing that many people have a hard time dealing with is left over paint. How do you know if you can still use it, or if you should dispose of it? Once you’ve figured that out, then what?
We recently wrote an article about the 2018 paint colors of the year but I wanted to better understand the process of how a color is selected and what affect it has on sales. I reached out to the Voice of Color, PPG Paints, to learn about how they selected Black Flame as the color of the year as well as ask for any tips they have on selecting paint colors for your home. Dee Schlotter, PPG Paints Senior Color Marketing Manager, was kind enough to answer my questions and provide great insight on the process.
Sprucing up your home’s exterior can be an effective way to increase its appeal to potential buyers once you put it up for sale. Improving landscaping and making small repairs to fencing and other exterior structures may help catch a buyer’s eye. However, one of the most effective ways to improve your home’s curbside appeal is to touch up its outside with a few creative exterior painting ideas that can help it stand out in the competitive real estate seller’s market.
We are lucky to be able to work in many beautiful old homes such as in Lakewood, Shaker Heights or Ohio City. While we know what a difference a professional paint job can do in an older home, there is one project that may even make for a more dramatic transformation.... Refinishing old hardwood floors! In 2017 we worked on a few homes where the floors were being re-done at the same time by Alex Oster and his team at Natural Choice Hardwood Floors. I caught up with Alex to talk about his company as well as the process and price for getting hardwood floors refinished.

I recently had an opportunity to catch up with Ben Gertz of Gertz Building Company out of Bay Village to learn about his family business as well as the home building and renovation industry. I first met Ben about a year ago when we were both completing the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Tri-C.
